Best Color Picker Privacy Policy

Updated 2026-07-14

Effective date: July 14, 2026

Best Color Picker is a Chrome extension that lets you pick a visible color and copy it. It works locally on your device.

Best Color Picker processes visible webpage pixels only when the user starts Page mode. The captured page image is used locally and temporarily to identify the color selected by the user; it is not transmitted, retained, or shared.

Best Color Picker stores the user’s selected color history and picker settings locally in Chrome on the user’s device. It does not collect accounts, names, email addresses, browsing history, analytics, advertising data, or location data. It does not sell, transfer, or share user data with third parties.

What Best Color Picker handles

When you choose Page mode, Best Color Picker temporarily captures the currently visible browser tab so it can show a precision magnifier and sample the pixel you select.

That screenshot exists only in memory while the picker is active. It is discarded when you select a color or cancel. It is never uploaded, stored, or sent to a server.

Best Color Picker stores the following only on your device using Chrome extension storage:

  • Your settings
  • Your most recently selected color
  • Up to 100 recent color selections, including the color value, selection source, and time selected

What Best Color Picker does not collect

Best Color Picker does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Account information
  • Names, email addresses, or contact details
  • Analytics or advertising data
  • Browser history
  • Page URLs or titles
  • Page content
  • Screenshots
  • Cursor locations
  • Monitor information
  • Browser tab IDs

No tracking or sharing

Best Color Picker has no account system, analytics, advertising, cloud sync, tracking, or server. It makes no runtime network requests.

We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer your data to third parties.

Your choices

You can clear color history from the History tab. You can reset settings from the Settings tab. Removing the extension removes its locally stored extension data according to Chrome’s normal extension-data behavior.

Children’s privacy

Best Color Picker is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
